This landmark event will be held in Mogadishu, the capital of Somalia, for the first time since 1989, symbolizing a renewed commitment to revitalizing academic and intellectual engagement within the country. Hosted by the Somali National University, the congress represents a significant milestone in Somali studies, emphasizing resilience and progress within the Somali academic community.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><b>Congress Theme and Objectives:<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The theme of this year\u2019s congress, <b><i>\u201cReconstructing and Developing the Somali Nation,\u201d<\/i><\/b> addresses the multifaceted challenges and opportunities that Somalia faces in its pursuit of sustainable development and national reconstruction. This theme encourages a critical examination of Somalia\u2019s current needs and offers insights and strategies vital for its long-term stability and growth. We invite submissions in Somali, Arabic or English that align with the congress&#8217;s main theme and its various sub-thematic areas:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>\u2060State Building and Good Governance: Analysing strategies for effective state-building, governance, and enhancing the capacity of Somali institutions.<\/li>\n<li>\u2060Culture and Language: Exploring the role of Somali culture, language, and literature in strengthening national identity and unity.<\/li>\n<li>Security and Geopolitics: Examining geopolitical and security issues impacting Somalia and their implications for national reconstruction.<\/li>\n<li>Education and Human Capital Development: Discussing the importance of education and human capital in supporting sustainable development and nation-building efforts.<\/li>\n<li>\u201cInnovation for a Sustainable Future: Science and Technology Development in Somalia&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>Religion and Peacebuilding: Highlighting the role of normative Islamic teachings of peace, tolerance, and compassion in countering violent extremism and fostering social cohesion.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p class=\"p1\"><b>Expected Outcomes:<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The 15th SSIA Congress aims to:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li1\">Produce a comprehensive publication of congress proceedings.<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\">Develop actionable recommendations for engaging the Somali diaspora in nation-building activities.<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\">Promote Somali culture, language, and literature.<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\">Advance strategies for peace, reconciliation, and conflict resolution.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p1\"><b>Submission Guidelines:<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">We invite participants to submit abstracts that align with the congress&#8217;s sub-themes.
